Allen Pope is a visiting glaciologist from Boulder, Colorado. He the Scientist-in-Residency Fellow at the Sitka Sound Science Center for the month of February. He’ll be giving two public programs on glaciers: A Science Cafe, 5:30 PM Thu Feb 18 at the Sitka Sound Science Center, and a Natural History Seminar, 7:30 PM Thu Feb 25 at the University of Alaska Southeast, Sitka Campus. Informally, he’s hoping to host a “bad science” Movie Night, and he’s perfecting “glacier goo” to demonstrate glacial flow to students. With SIRF director Lauren Bell.
