NSRAA seeks state hatchery permit for Little Port Walter chinook program

The chinook program at the Little Port Walter Hatchery on southern Baranof Island could soon be under the management of the Sitka-based Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association. NSRAA has applied for a state hatchery permit at the site, and hopes to release one million kings at the government-owned hatchery this season.

Porch Fest brings music, food, the arts to Sitka this Saturday

Porch Fest is all-day community festival of music, dance, and the arts which is entering its fourth year this Saturday, May 18. Lincoln St. will be blocked off 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. for food, vendors, and music events, with performances on the PorchFest main stage at the Crescent Harbor net shed until 9 p.m. Sponsored by the Greater Sitka Arts Council.
