Mineral exploration underway on Prince of Wales Island

JUNEAU, ALASKA (2009-09-03) A Canadian mining company is searching for a large copper deposit in a mountain west of Ketchikan. Exploration has begun on the Mount Andrew project, and could continue for some time.
It’s one of several Canadian mining ventures active on Prince of Wales Island, including one focusing on uranium.
