Troopers also cited two other men on similar violations: 67-year old Joe Lindholm of Anacortes, Washington, and 67-year old William Glenovich of Bellingham. Lindholm is the skipper of the seiner Star Shadow, and Glenovich the herring permit holder. Troopers seized the Star Shadow’s fish tickets.
All three men are scheduled to appear in Sitka District Court on April 12th at 1:30 in the afternoon.
In 2006, another herring seiner forfeited $170,000 and spent a year on probation when the court ruled that he closed his net 23-seconds late during a 15-minute opener the previous spring.
Seiners on Monday landed almost 6,000 tons of herring in Sitka.
