Mt. Edgecumbe business students have launched a small company to sell wristbands, and they’ll split the profits with an organization fighting homelessness in Sitka. Kayla Merculief (Jr-Sitka) is the CEO of the business, Richard Corbett (Sr-Dillingham) is the VP of Marketing, and Robert Nielsen (Soph-Anch) is the VP of Public Relations. The three are joined by Mim McConnell, the organizer of Project Homeless Connect, to discuss their unusual business plan. The goal is to help fund a drop-in homeless shelter in Sitka. More information about wristband sales is available from Junior Achievement advisor Bill Winslow at 966-3249 or by email, or from Kayla Merculief.
