Sarah Owens is a Fellow in textile conservation, Peter McElhenney is a Fellow in objects conservation, and Rebecca Summerour is a graduate intern in textile conservation — all with the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC. The trio are participating in the Conservator Field Research Project, which offers museum professionals a chance to learn about Native culture in context. Their host in Sitka is renowned Sitka textile artist Teri Rofkar.
