Illustrator and graphic novelist Sam Alden is a recent graduate of Whitman College who plans to spend the summer in Sitka developing a project he’s calling “Eighth Grade.” Alden says writing is more important to comics than art, which you can pick up along the way. He’s a member of the inaugural class of Sitka Fellows, in residence on the Sheldon Jackson Campus. He spoke with KCAW’s Robert Woolsey.
