Sitka Historical Museum curator Jackie Fernandez discusses the next community curating exhibit, “Sitka: Paris of the Pacific, Then and Now.” Deadline for entries is Wed Sep 26, 2012. The exhibit will open Tue Oct 9, just prior to a three-day joint meeting of the Alaska Historical Society and Museums Alaska. Past community curating exhibits have featured local writing, photography, and wearable art. For this exhibit, Fernandez is soliciting “the ephemera” that defines Sitka: brochures for events, program flyers, menus from non-profit functions, music, and theater.
