Governor Parnell’s proposed capital budget includes no money for major Southeast hydro projects. The budget includes several million dollars for Sitka infrastructure, but more for transportation projects elsewhere. City officials disappointed the budget includes no funding to finish Sitka’s Blue Lake dam. Next year’s king salmon return in the Stikine expected to improve, but not enough for a commercial fishery.
