Joe Roman is a conservation biologist from the University of Vermont, currently serving as the Sitka Sound Science Center Scientist in Residence Fellow. Roman’s area of study is the role of whale feces in the ocean nutrient cycle. He’ll also be teaching a class in natural history writing through the Sitka Fine Arts Camp.
