Dr. Michael Lannoo is the Scientist in Residence at the Sitka Sound Science Center (SSSC), where he is studying the conservation biology of amphibians on Baranof Island. Dr. Lanoo is the latest recipient of the Scientist in Residence Fellowship (SIRF), a one-month sabbatical program, and is joined in the studio by coordinator Victoria O’Connell. Dr. Lannoo is a professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at Indiana University School of Medicine and author of the book “Leopold’s Schack and Ricketts’s Lab.”
This week, the SSSC building was unwrapped of it’s scaffolding. A ribbon cutting will take place on Alaska Day, October 17th, at 9am to celebrate the first stage of renovations.
