Tournament play starts Thursday at 1:30 PM when the Mt. Edgecumbe Lady Braves meet Nikiski.
It’s a big night for basketball in Sitka, even though no Sitka team is playing.
This week Mt. Edgecumbe has been hosting the Region V Basketball tournament for 1A schools, and the championship games are tonight.
In the girls bracket, Kake and Angoon square off at 6 PM in the title game. The Kake and Klawock boys will meet at 7:45.

Down in Ketchikan at the 3A tournament, the Sitka girls forced a play-off game by beating Petersburg, 51 – 43 earlier today. The Lady Wolves and Lady Vikings will meet again tomorrow (Sat 3-7-15) at 3 PM for the championship.
Likewise, the Sitka boys also earned a title shot. The Wolves beat the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves this afternoon, 50 – 47. These two teams will meet again tomorrow at 4:45 in the title game.
