GIRLS FINAL: The Sitka Lady Wolves are the 3A State Basketball champions. The Sitka girls beat Valdez 53-50 on the main court of the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage Saturday afternoon (3-21-15) to claim the title.
Valdez attempted to shut down Sitka’s Sid Riggs, but their strategy backfired when the senior went to the free throw line and sank 11 of 13 attempts. Riggs had 18 points total in the game. Zosha Krupa more than picked up the slack. The sophomore standout had her game of the season and rang up 21 points.
