35 colleges and universities are setting up booths at Sitka’s annual College Fair (Tuesday, October 13th at Sitka High School), including the University of Alaska Southeast, Sitka Campus. Owen Kindig, Public Information Officer at UAS, and Chris Washko, Student Success Center Manager, speak about the university’s involvement and their high school bridging program, Sitka Start. UAS, Sitka is also co-hosting, with Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV), the Clothesline Project. The Clothesline Project is a visual display of locally-decorated shirts, which bear witness to family violence.
