Health providers talk about their collaboration with Sitka National Historical Park for “Park Prescriptions,” a national program that incentivizes recreation within parks for health and wellness. For the month of April, Sitka’s park will have a 30-day walking challenge where visitors can “walk and win” for prizes with a punch card.
Ranger Ryan Carpenter explains the program with Doug Osborne, director of health promotion at Sitka Community Hospital, and Lauren Hughey, health educator at Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC).
