The US military veterans assembled at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota have pledged their continued support to protesters there.
Sitka filmmaker Emmett Williams traveled to North Dakota last weekend (12-3-16). He plans on making a series of short films about those involved in the months-long standoff between tribal protesters and the Dakota Access Pipeline project.
His first short is called This is Where We Stand, and features Navy veteran Trisha Lucas.

The exact number of military veterans who showed up at Standing Rock last Saturday is unknown. Their GoFundMe page has raised over $1 million dollars. The film also contains scenes from the Forgiveness Ceremony performed by Sioux Nation leaders with the military.
