Sarah Lawrie is Sitka’s new AmeriCorps Program Coordinator, taking over for Faith Lee. Lawrie shares the history of the longstanding volunteer program and new collaborations with Sitka non-profits.
Laurie was joined by two of the 23 volunteers: Ryan Derbyshire, who is volunteering at Youth Advocates of Sitka, and Laura Bennett, based at Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum. Derbyshire and Bennett talk about their plans for their year of service.
