Blatchley Middle School will be holding a “Day of Caring” on April 20th to give back to the community. Librarian Kari Sagel spoke with KCAW Morning Edition host Tina Bachmeier about this event. Each school “pack” – organized groups of 12-14 students – will spend the morning doing good works while wearing t-shirts. Sagel hopes this event will take place on alternate years to “Discover Your Potential” Week. “‘There’s real clamor from kids, parents, and the community to do it every year. So this is our response. We can’t do [DYP] every year, but on alternate years we can do the “Day of Caring.'”
