While at its core WhaleFest is a celebration of scientific inquiry and marine biology, the science festival also celebrates maritime culture in Sitka through a marine-themed artisan market, local food, art shows and music.
Folk singer and chanteyman Don Sineti has been a part of this cultural celebration almost since the inception of Sitka WhaleFest. Each year, he delights audiences with his music at the Monthly Grind and a Family Concert. He joined KCAW’s Katherine Rose on the Morning Interview to share his art.
