The Sitka School District is conducting an Early Childhood Survey with funding from a federal STEPS grant.
Parents with children ages birth to 5 years old are encouraged to fill out the anonymous survey to provide feedback to the Sitka School District on what support they need from the community. The school district will use that information to identify priorities for early childhood programs in Sitka.
Mandy Evans, STEPS Grant Director, and Kari Sagel, Family and Community Connectedness Project Coordinator, talks about how to participate. They are hosting an open house on Thursday, November 8th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the SEACC Building (205 Baranof Street). The 10-question survey takes 3-7 minutes to complete. Families can build a plate of cookies to take home when they’re done.
The Sitka Early Childhood Survey is sponsored by the Sitka School District in collaboration with Sitka Tribe of Alaska, Center for Community, Sitkans Against Family Violence/Pathways Coalition, and the Association of Alaska Schools Boards.
