Sitka health officials reported three new coronavirus cases over the weekend.
A woman in her fifties and a man in his forties have tested positive for the virus. Both Sitka residents were experiencing symptoms when they were tested on September 18.
Both patients are isolating, and health officials have completed contact tracing for the male patient. The contact tracing for the female patient is ongoing, according to a city press release issued Monday (9-21-20).
A third patient, a man in his forties, was initially reported by the Alaska DHSS on Friday (9-18-20). The Sitka resident did not have symptoms at the time of testing, according to the city’s press release.
The new cases bring Sitka’s resident total to 45. 17 non-residents have tested positive. Three cases are currently considered ‘active’ according to city data, and Sitka’s COVID-19 alert level remains “low.”
