Sitka officials announced one new COVID-19 case today (9-23-20).
The patient is in his fifties. He had symptoms when he was tested on Sept. 22. According to a press release from the Sitka Unified Command, he is isolating and public health officials are initiating the contact tracing process.
He is the forty-sixth Sitka resident to test positive for the coronavirus in Sitka since April. Seventeen non-residents have tested positive. Of those cases, only three are currently active, according to city data.
