Yakutat has reported another case of the coronavirus.
The individual took a test on Monday (10-19-20) and received a positive test result Thursday (10-22-20). The person does not appear to be connected to another individual who tested positive last week. “The origin of the spread is unknown at this time,” according to a press release from the Yakutat COVID-19 Incident Command.
According to local authorities, ten people in Yakutat have tested positive for the virus since the first case in late July. Two of those cases are currently “active.”
The Yakutat Community Health Center is continuing to offer free testing.
