Ghanaian musician Okaidja Afroso returns to Sitka this week to teach a drumming workshop and perform music that incorporates percussion, guitar, dance, and vocals. Afroso and Sitka Fine Arts Camp’s Kenley Jackson joined KCAW’s Erin Fulton to talk music, dance, and tradition. Listen to the full interview here:
The drumming workshop is Saturday, January 27 at 10 a.m. at the Rasmuson Center on the Sitka Fine Arts campus and the performance is at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sitka Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available here or at the door.
