Fireweed Dance Theatre’s annual gala performance is 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Sitka Performing Arts Center. As Fireweed directors Melinda McAdams and Laura Turcott explain, the gala features performances from six choreographers, and an alumni dance set to “I Put a Spell on You.” Fireweed Dance Theatre is an adjunct to the Sitka Studio of Dance; performers audition to join the company, and learn repertory pieces outside of regular class time.
