The filing period opened earlier this week to run for local office in Sitka. On Tuesday, Assembly Member Kevin Mosher filed to run for reelection. KCAW spoke with Mosher about his last two terms and what his goals are, should he be re-elected for a third. Listen to their conversation here:
Mosher is the first candidate to file for one of two open seats on the Sitka Assembly, both three-year terms. The mayor’s chair is also up for grabs this year– a two-year term, along with two seats on the Sitka School Board, both three-year terms. The candidate filing period closes on Friday, August 2 at 5 p.m. Those interested in running for office can pick up a packet from the municipal clerk’s office on the third floor of city hall.
