Earlier this week (7-22-24), former assembly candidate Austin Cranford filed to run again for a seat on the Sitka Assembly. KCAW spoke with Cranford to learn more about his decision to run, and some of his priorities if he’s elected.
Cranford is one of three candidates to file for two open seats on the Sitka Assembly, both three year terms. The mayor’s chair is also open this year, a two year term, along with two seats on the school board, both three year terms. The filing period to run for a seat is open until 5 p.m. on August 2. Sitka’s municipal election is Tuesday, October 1.
