A two-way contest for Sitka’s mayor as Leah Mason enters race

Last week, another Sitkan threw their hat in the ring for the mayor’s seat. KCAW spoke with Leah Mason about her interest in leading Sitka’s assembly, and her goals should she be elected to the two-year term.  

Mason is the second candidate to file for the mayor’s chair. She’s running against incumbent Mayor Steven Eisenbeisz. The third candidate to file, Linda Marlin-Smith, withdrew her name from the running on Monday (8-5-24). 
Sitka’s municipal election is Tuesday, October 1.
