Mary Sheehan is an independent living advocate with Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL). She coordinates the Veterans’ Options for Independence, Choice, and Empowerment (VOICE) Program. SAIL works with the Veterans Administration to provide veterans with a budget for personal care services. The VOICE program allows veterans to be in charge of the care they are receiving.
