Magnitude 5.9 earthquake strikes south of Sitka, no tsunami danger reported
The magnitude 5.9 quake struck at 10:46 p.m. on January 11, 2024. The epicenter was approximately 50 miles south of Sitka, at a depth of 12 miles. The US Tsunami Warning Center has issued no watch or advisory related to the quake.
